Now that the Gandhi Centenary Stamp has been issued by the Post Office I feel I must write to you in my capacity as Chairman of the U.K. National Committee for the Gandhi Celebrations to express the deep and sincere appreciation of our Committee to you.
I realize what a brave decision it was to break with precedent and agree to do this and we are all deeply grateful.
