Gandhi Centenary Stamp
The year October 1968 to October 1969 has been designated by the Government of India as the Gandhi Centenary Year. The Rt Hon. John Stonehouse, MP, the Postmaster General, has decided to issue a special postage stamp later this year to commemorate the occasion.
It will be the first time for a statesman from overseas to be commemorated on a British postage stamp.
